The Role of Carbon Offsets in Local Decarbonization

Are you interested in how the City of Charlottesville is using carbon offsets?

Join us for a panel discussion featuring local experts in carbon offsets and decarbonization pathways. We will discuss how carbon offsets work, their benefits and challenges, and when/how they should be used - a topic that has come up locally as part of Charlottesville's municipal gas utility’s recently completed decarbonization study.  This panel will offer a forum to continue exploring whether/how carbon offsets should be used in the context of the City's climate goals, and the potential for redirecting carbon offset funds towards local climate mitigation projects.

*If you would like to attend this event in person or virtually, you will receive the link to join after registering*
