About Quantitative investment management
Quantitative Investment Management, LLC is a Virginia-based global investment management firm specializing in alternative investment strategies for institutional and private investors. QIM was founded in 2003 by Jaffray Woodriff, Michael Geismar and Greyson Williams. Our firm develops proprietary frameworks for predicting short- and medium-term price movements for a wide variety of markets. We currently employ numerous quantitative trading models that utilize pattern recognition to predict the global equity and futures markets.
Our Committment to Sustainability
QIM has been planning the buildout of our new office space located within the CODE building. The CODE building is striving to achieve LEED Gold status and has implemented many green initiatives that will benefit the sustainability of QIM’s office space and the additional building tenants. The CODE building has the following sustainability features:
· 1/3 of the energy usage of an average office building;
· 20% of construction material (by cost) to contain recycled content;
· Responsible water management through storm water runoff on site and rainwater collection for irrigation purposes;
· Tenant spaces with outdoor terraces with green roof and native plantings.
Within the QIM tenant space we have implemented the following features:
· An office design that maximizes use of natural daylight to decrease our artificial light usage;
· Low-flow plumbing fixtures;
· Mercury-free light fixtures;
· Sustainable materials throughout the interior, including low-emitting paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, insulation, fabrics and flooring.

QIM values the work that C3 is doing and is committed to active involvement in the Green Business Alliance. As a member of the local business community, QIM believes it has an opportunity to learn how it can do more to further sustainability initiatives and potentially, serve as an example for others.
Looking Ahead
QIM’s first goal is to attain a 30 percent reduction in energy usage after completing the move into the more efficient office space, combined with additional sustainability opportunities.
