A Long-Standing Tradition in the Community

About CMA’s Colonial Nissan

Nissan has been a part of Carter Myers Automotive for nearly four decades.  A leader in delivering high quality, mass market transportation options, Nissan has been a leader in electrification in transportation.  The Nissan Leaf has been selling in the US since 2008.

CMA made a statement in 2014 by building a new image facility for Nissan in Charlottesville and making sustainability a focus for the project.  Full LED lighting andupgraded HVAC controls were added.  Then, in 2018, CMA’s Colonial Nissan switched on a rooftop solar array of 480 panels offsetting nearly 100% of energy previously supplied by Dominion.

Why We’re Excited to Join the Alliance

We see this collaboration is a powerful motivator and, in order to take the next steps in our climate journey, we are going to need some.  2021 is a year in which CMA’s Colonial Nissan is aiming to develop plans to phase out the natural gas heating systems in our service shops. This will be a difficult and expensive task, but one that will further reduce the dealership’s carbon emissions. We look forward to working with C3 and the GBA to move this forward.
