Latricia Giles, the Residential Climate and Equity Program Manager at C3 said, “I am very excited about the Climate Justice Mural and the transformative power it represents. This mural represents the hope that we can turn things around by acknowledging our past, taking action now, and creating just and equitable climate solutions that secure a future for all.”
Executive Director for the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross, Bill Brent said, “Your American Red Cross is honored to be to provide the landscape and permanent home for this remarkable work of art and important climate change message. Climate change is a humanitarian crisis. Every day, the American Red Cross sees the heartbreak of families and communities trying to cope with more intense storms, heavier rainfall, higher temperatures, stronger hurricanes, and more devastating wildfires. And for the vulnerable communities who are disproportionately impacted, help cannot come soon enough.”
“The Bridge is always enthusiastic about saying yes to Charlottesville's next big ideas,” said Alan Goffinski, Executive Director for the Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative. “When the opportunity to partner with such great organizations arose, we were confident that our Charlottesville Mural Project could bring the connections and the know-how to the table to make something meaningful and magical happen. It has been a joy watching all the students and interns get so much out of this project all summer long.”
