Last week, the Virginia General Assembly passed a suite of bills that will reduce transportation emissions in the Commonwealth. Included were higher standards of fuel efficiency for vehicles sold in the state, rebates to incentivize electric vehicle purchases, and increased vehicle charging infrastructure.

An impressive coalition of environmental groups, municipalities, and industry trade groups who made this victory possible.

Today, we are celebrating the incredible leadership of long-standing C3 partner, Carter Myers Automotive, whose support alongside the Virginia Automotive Dealers Association, gave these bills critical momentum needed for passage.

As Carter Myers Automotive CEO, Liza Borches, stated, “The transportation industry must be part of the solution for climate change. It is an exciting time that will cause our business model to evolve and at CMA, we are here to be a solutions provider for the future of automobiles and the future for our environment.”

Pete Borches, President of CMA Properties, Inc., and C3 Board Member added, "We are grateful for C3's partnership with CMA. Each of us brought a perspective and relationships to the effort to move our state forward. It was a great example of what we can do when we all work together, listen to each other, and bring ideas to the table."

The C3 team also spearheaded a letter on behalf of nine cities and counties representing more than 1 million Virginians which urged the General Assembly to support Clean Cars.
