AHIP is a Charlottesville/Albemarle home repair nonprofit organization working to ensure safe, affordable homes for our neighbors in need. AHIP’s Energy Retrofit Initiative, a partnership with LEAP, is integral to its critical rehab and repair efforts that reach more than 100 families each year, helping homeowners lower their heating and cooling costs and our local community reduce the residential energy footprint.

Indivisible Charlottesville empowers citizens to oppose the Trump agenda and defend democracy by holding government accountable. LEAP’s mission is to lead the effort in local communities to implement energy efficient and renewable technologies in buildings; to promote cost savings for families and businesses, job creation, energy self-reliance, and local economic development; and to mitigate climate change.
The City of Charlottesville has a growing tradition of working towards sustainability with a focused emphasis on climate protection. Our efforts are directed by formal commitments, informed by community greenhouse gas emissions inventory data, and supported by a range of programs and initiatives aimed at reducing those emissions levels. We seek effective and innovative ways to pursue emission reduction goals and the associated local benefits of clean air, local jobs, resiliency, and clean power choice.

The UVA Office for Sustainability works to advance a comprehensive, collaborative vision for sustainability by facilitating strategic planning, program development, and project implementation across a wide range of impact areas. The UVA OFS works in partnership with dozens of pan-University committees and organizations, representing hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and community members, dedicated to advancing sustainability stewardship, engagement, research, and curriculum opportunities from the Grounds up.
Wahoos for Sustainability is a grassroots movement of alumni, students, faculty, and staff who care deeply about the University of Virginia. Wahoos for Sustainability was born as a means to develop and provide support for clear, actionable and constructive steps to help the University make significant progress on its draft Sustainability Plan and assume a leadership position among leading universities.
