Thank You, Teri and Maggie!
C3 is losing two remarkable staff members, but their impact remains.
During the lifetime of an organization, certain individuals truly make their mark and help to shape the mission and vision of the organization. We know those individuals cannot stay with us forever but must spread their wings and pursue new and exciting endeavors. Teri Strother and Maggie Davis are two such remarkable individuals.
Teri Strother was C3’s very first employee and our first Director of Communications. She was the creative force behind the very idea of C3, and during her time with us, she built C3’s brand from a fledgling nonprofit to a recognizable and respected presence in our community. She led not just one but two brand launches when we changed our name from Charlottesville to Community Climate Collaborative, and she built relationships with dozens of reporters. Teri was the heartbeat of our organization for the past six years, and we wish her well as she continues her career at the University of Virginia.
Maggie Davis became C3’s first Director of Development when she joined the team in 2021. Her strong writing and graphic design skills yielded instant results, and C3’s revenues grew by $350,000 during her two-year tenure. Maggie was also a consummate team player, joining our Make Your Own Impact team and spearheading C3’s staff Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee. Her parting gift to our organization was the completion of a stunning Five-Year Impact Report. Maggie’s efforts will undoubtedly have a lasting impact.
If you see these amazing women in the community, please thank them for all they have done for our climate and our community. C3 wouldn’t be the organization it is today without them.
