C3 Welcomes Spring Interns

We are excited to welcome 3 UVA and 2 high school interns to C3 this semester! These students will work closely with current C3 staff members on climate-related projects and events.

UVA Undergraduate Interns

Ellie Cowan - Energy Equity Intern

Ellie is a second-year at the University of Virginia from Arlington, Virginia. She plans to double major in economics and environmental sciences. After many summers in the Adirondacks, Ellie found a passion for environmental activism, specifically how youth can use their voices to advance positive change. In addition to interning at C3, she is involved in Second Year Council and the Economics Club. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her golden retriever Callie.

Maggie Eastlack - Communications Intern

Maggie is a fourth-year at the University of Virginia majoring in Urban and Environmental Planning. She is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia and in high school participated in an environmental leadership class which deepened her lifelong interest in the environment and sustainability. Outside of her internship at C3, Maggie is involved in the Students Planners Association and enjoys spending time with friends, family, and two dogs, Millie and Winnie.

Jaime Trejo-Angeles - TRANSIT EQUITY INTERN

Jaime is a fourth-year at the University of Virginia from Winchester, Virginia. He plans to major in environmental sciences and minor in U.S. Latinx Studies. Jaime’s passion for climate and environmental justice began this past summer during his internship with the Environmental Defense Fund’s Virginia Coasts and Watersheds division. Jaime worked on equity challenges and presented next steps for the Army Corps of Engineers' nonstructural approaches in the Norfolk Coastal Storm Risk Management project. Jaime is passionate about centering the experiences of local communities, including those who’ve been historically marginalized. Jamie is also involved in the Latinx Leadership Institute, the Hispanic/Latinx Peer Mentoring Program, Central Americans for Empowerment, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. In his free time, he enjoys going to concerts and spending time with friends.
