C3 Welcomes Fall Interns from UVA

As school starts back up again, we are excited to welcome 5 new fall interns! These UVA students will work closely with current C3 staff members on climate related projects and events.

ELLIE COWAN - TRANSIT EQUITY INTERN

Ellie is a second-year at the University of Virginia from Arlington, Virginia. She plans to double major in economics and environmental sciences. After many summers in the Adirondacks, Ellie found a passion for environmental activism, specifically how youth can use their voices to advance positive change. In addition to interning at C3, she is involved in Second Year Council and the Economics Club. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her golden retriever Callie.

PETER MOORE - COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING INTERN

Peter is a second-year at the University of Virginia from Arlington, Virginia. He is on the pre-commerce track and is planning to apply to the McIntire School of Commerce later this year. At UVA, Peter is a member of One Love, the Virginia Finance Institute, the club swim team, and various other intramural sports teams. In his free time, Peter loves to spend time outdoors, whether it is going on a long run or hiking one of the many trails along the Blue Ridge Mountains.

LAUREN STANITSKI - DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Lauren is a fourth-year at the University of Virginia from Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is majoring in Environmental Thought & Practice with a minor in Government. Ever since Lauren was a little kid, she has had a love of the great outdoors. This interest in nature led her to work at an outdoor recreation center in her hometown the past few summers. She also has a love of animals, especially dogs. Her hobbies include running, paddleboarding, kayaking, walking her dog, and anything that involves being outside.

JAYLAH WEBB - CLIMATE JUSTICE INTERN

Jaylah Webb is a fourth year at the UVA majoring in Global Studies with a concentration in Environments and Sustainability and minor in Politics with the hopes of becoming an environmental lawyer. Originally from Fayetteville, NC, Jaylah's passion for climate justice sparked after she discovered her family's drinking water had been contaminated with PFAs from a local chemical company for over two decades unbeknownst to the residents. Jaylah became dedicated to environmental justice and equitable climate change solutions following this discovery. She has served as a Member Engagement Intern for The Climate Registry, and as a Research Assistant Intern for The Sustainable Food Collaborative at the Institute for Engagement and Negotiation. In her free time, Jaylah likes to crochet and spoil her pets!

GREY WEBBERT - YOUTH LEADERSHIP INTERN

Grey is in their third-year at the University of Virginia and is originally from Stafford, VA. They are currently double majoring in Global Sustainability and Civil and Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources. They’re very active on campus, dedicated to working with YDSA and their eco-socialist committee, as well as with Abolition Apostles. Grey is an environmentalist at heart and has a very diverse range of hobbies and interests. In their spare time they like to paint, write letters, book bind, whittle, and metal wire wrap rocks to look like fish.

C3 couldn’t ask for a better group of interns, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish this semester!
