Advocate for Urgent and Just Climate Action in Charlottesville!

The Community Climate Collaborative and 10+ partner organizations (representing 50+ organizations) have written a community sign-on letter to recommend that Charlottesville’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) include more precise targets, timelines, and processes for future climate action in the City. It also urges the final CAP to better incorporate climate solutions that improve energy equity, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and advance transportation equity, food justice, and climate-smart zoning.

Now, we need you to add your voice alongside over 180 other residents by signing and commenting your endorsement of the Charlottesville Climate Action Plan Recommendation Letter.

This moment is critical for future climate action in Charlottesville. The actions outlined in Charlottesville’s CAP will guide our City as we work toward our climate goals of a 45% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. Adding your voice to this process will help ensure that the actions proposed are stronger, more effective, and more equitable. Climate action is stronger when we work together and create solutions that touch the lives of all of us. Join us in this huge opportunity to help shape how our community responds to the climate crisis and create policies that improve our daily lives!

Thank you, Community Partners!

Add your comments, too!

First, add your name to the letter here, then add a comment of support. Commenting on this letter is an opportunity not only to express support for the work of C3 and our partners but also to express your thoughts on climate action to the City. All comments will be collected and sent directly to the City with our letter by Wednesday, November 9th.

Join us for future advocacy!

We also invite you to stay engaged in climate policy advocacy (and even join us to speak at upcoming City Council meetings!) by signing up to be a C3 advocacy volunteer. We want to share our excitement about all things environmental policy, hear from your own experiences and expertise and create a network of engaged climate community members. Email us at policy@theclimatecollaborative.org if you are interested.
