This fall we want you to get to know our growing team. Maggie Stokes is our Director of Development. Find out her role and what she enjoys most about this work!

Briefly describe your role at C3.

Hi, my name is Maggie Stokes and I am the Director of Development at C3. I like to think of non-profit fundraising as giving people an opportunity to make a difference. My role is to give you, the viewer and as someone who believes in C3’s work, an avenue to get directly involved in our organization. In turn, I help deliver resources to our program staff who are on the ground, doing the critical work to reduce emissions and combat climate change.

What is one thing you’ve done at C3 that you are proud of?

I started at C3 in July, but I’ve worked on a lot of projects in the last two and a half months. But, I would have to say that my greatest accomplishment so far was creating the 2020 Annual Report. It was fun for me to work on because I was able to utilize my creativity and artistic side while making this report. I’m inspired by all of the work that the C3 team accomplished in 2020 during an unprecedented year. In fact, I am so encouraged by the entire scope of work that the team has done since the beginning of this organization. I am so grateful to be part of such a hard-working and dedicated group, and I’m really excited to help C3 grow and accelerate climate action here at home.

What do you like most about working at C3?

The thing I like most about working at C3 is the people. We are such a small team, that it feels like a little family, all working towards a common goal. We are all open and supportive with each other, making it easy to work together. We also have a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities that make us a robust group. The fact that we are so diverse enhances our credibility and strengthens our ability to really connect with community members. It reinforces our dedication to meeting the needs of everyone in our community as we work to find climate solutions.

What is something that people are surprised to learn about you?

I guess people are always surprised when I tell them that I am a twin! I have a twin sister, but we are not identical, unfortunately. I also have an older sister, and all 3 of us are very close. My family means everything to me and they are my driving force in the work that I do. I want to make the world a better place for my parents, my aunts, uncles, my younger cousins, my sisters, and any potential nieces and nephews! I’m not doing this just for my family, but for yours and everyone else. The work that we do at C3 is so important and I’m glad to be a part of it.
