It is never easy to say goodbye, but unfortunately, C3’s Residential Program Manager, Andrea Bostrom, will be leaving us this week to join the City of Charlottesville as an Environmental Engineer. We know that she’s in good hands with our partners at the City, but she will be missed!

As a farewell and “thank you”, we wanted to highlight some of her best work moving residents and households throughout the community to greater heights when it comes to climate action while having some serious fun!

Launch of the Classroom Challenge/Guidebook

After many weeks of research, writing, and collaboration, the Classroom Climate Challenge guide was finished and ready to launch in area schools. Little did we know that COVID would interrupt our momentum here! But Andrea and the team pivoted to a virtual environment and held a spring Virtual Climate Camp that was well-received by teachers and parents alike. Andrea took some of the Classroom Guide’s lessons and paired them with  amazing climate action resources which teachers and kids can still access.

Climate Trivia during COVID

With all of our Earth Day events shut down, we knew virtual events would be a challenge. It was a challenge that Andrea met head on by putting together a truly creative and engaging visual, auditory, and mental trivia experience for our network!

Successful Season Four of the Home Energy Challenge

In June, our fourth Home Energy Challenge season came to a close with a virtual celebration. Andrea put together a great slideshow of households acting on climate, and if you haven’t read her  Chronicles of Climate Action, which documented the season, they are a must read on our blog.

Climate Action Academy Coming Soon!

To help area households dig even deeper to reach their climate goals,, Andrea has cooked up an exciting initiative for households in 2021. We cannot wait to unveil it,and thank Andrea for her hard work to develop  it this fall.

Andrea, our team and our Charlottesville and Albemarle households will miss you. Best of luck in your new endeavor!
