Meet the WINNER of C3's Summer Sprint!

Minimalist Fashion Photo Collage.png

Jen and her husband moved to Charlottesville three years ago from Northern Virginia and adopted their zero waste lifestyle when they decided to practice more minimalism.

Jen and her husband chose the following summer-themed climate actions (contestants did at least one per week and tagged us on social): She plogged; signed up to take part in the next the Home Energy Challenge; composted at the City Market; took her to go container to a local restaurant; had an unplugged evening at home, biked to work; and created less waste at home.

Their household only produces one 13 gallon bag of trash every two months! Impressive. By reducing their single use consumption and maximizing their composting/recycling, Jen's family is definitely approaching zero waste.

We were also happy to learn that after plogging with the Summer Sprint, Jen organized a bi-weekly group to plog the streets of Cville and enjoys talking to passersby about the purpose of keeping our community beautiful.

High fives all around to Jen and everyone who did one or more actions to shift their lifestyle to a more climate-friendly approach.
