Welcome Caetano de Campos Lopes!
We are happy to welcome Caetano de Campos Lopes, as our new Director of Climate Policy, to the team this week!
Before joining the Charlottesville Climate Collaborative, Caetano worked for the City of Buenos Aires, leading the City’s assessments of clean energy projects, representing the City with different stakeholders and decision makers, as well as attending international workshops held by organizations such as C40 Cities and G20.
Since moving to Charlottesville, Caetano has actively engaged with climate organizations, writing reports, leading workshops, and attending meetings at the US Congress, foreign embassies and multilateral organizations. Caetano also collaborates with the design and development of American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy's climate-performance scorecard for key American cities. He developed a strong desire to work on the promotion of effective sustainability policies while growing up in Brazil and observing environmental degradation and its consequences first-hand. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Economics.

I look forward to working collaboratively with our community partners to explore groundbreaking opportunities to address this challenge while promoting progress and equity and ensuring environmental quality for our future generations.”

Caetano resides in Charlottesville with his wife, Diana, and enjoys the scenic views and natural beauty of the region is his spare time.
