We’re so happy to welcome Andrea Bostrom to the team as C3’s new Residential Program Manager!

In her role, Andrea will provide hands-on support for homeowners and renters to take action in their own lives as well as cultivate local advocates for climate-friendly and equitable policies. She joins us just in time to kick off Season Three of our Home Energy Challenge, a program designed to reduce your household’s carbon footprint with the support of a team of your friends or neighbors.

Andrea began her journey into advocacy as a high school student in the Deep South, holding the enviable (in her own mind) title of President of the Students for Environmental Awareness club. A native of Alabama, she grew up eating home grown tomatoes, communing with horses, and riding her bike through peach orchards. Ever the pragmatist, she took her passion for the environment and applied it towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Master's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas - Austin. Andrea has spent almost two decades as an engineer, policy maker, and program manager in  both the public and private sectors.

Most recently, she served as the program manager for the flood protection program at the City of Austin's Watershed Protection Department. Andrea and her family relocated to Charlottesville, VA in 2014 where she pursued an interest in social justice service work and generally learned the lay of the land. She served as Director of the Charlottesville Waldorf School before joining C3 in September 2019.

When she's not hanging with the C3 crew, she can be found experimenting with permaculture techniques in her backyard, digging for worms with her two sons, and taming the beast that is her lab(ish) puppy, Daisy.

Welcome, Andrea!
