Moving Lives Forward in More Ways than One

About CMA Volvo of Charlottesville

CMA’s Volvo Cars of Charlottesville has been a part of Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) since 2004.   Since the beginning, Volvo has been a good fit for CMA.  A mutual focus on quality products, safety, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business practices have been foundations for this relationship.

In 2019, Volvo Cars of Charlottesville moved from an Ivy Road location to a state-of-the-art  facility on Berkmar Drive.  The move from a leased property to one that is owned and controlled by CMA offered several opportunities for significant investment in reducing our carbon footprint.   Investments included full LED lighting inside and out, solar power installation, a rooftop rain garden,, and best practices for stormwater management in the parking lot.

Carter Myers Automotive is a company that makes every decision around how we can move lives forward in a positive direction-- for our associates, our customers, and our community. The Green Business Alliance was a natural fit on how we can move more lives forward.

Why We’re Excited about the Alliance

CMA’s Volvo Cars of Charlottesville is excited to be a part of the Green Business Alliance for several reasons. We’re looking forward to collaborating with and supporting other local businesses on their journey of climate action.   We also believe that the GBA will be a beacon to any businesses considering taking their own actions. Lastly, GBA will allow us to focus our efforts on what can achieve the greatest impact as well as hold us accountable to our goals.

CMA’s Volvo Cars of Charlottesville looks to this partnership with C3 to continue to drive down our greenhouse gas emissions.  Specifically, looking at our service departments use of natural gas radiant heating.  We are also focused on continuing to engage and educate our associates and customers on climate and the important steps we can all be taking.
